Buffalo creek is a small tributary of Willow creek which is a tributary of the Upper Colorado.  This is small water mainly flowing through beaver ponds and packed with small brook trout.  A drag free drift and a stealthy approach is key to catching fish.  If you keep your casts close and keep most of your line out of the water, you can get good drifts and hook a bunch of brookies.

If by chance the brook trout aren’t eating a drag free drift, throw your fly downstream and skate it upstream on the water and that often entices the brookies to eat.
