Some rivers look really fishy and worth exploring, but as part of our River Explorer membership, we also list rivers that are not fishable, but may be enticing to anglers.  No one’s going out of their way to fish a 3ft wide ditch without a reason, but some creeks are fishy looking on a map.  This was Leopard Creek.  There was great looking water for brown trout, but I fished it for about 40 minutes and the river is small enough to wade through the middle.  Even if I was unable to catch fish, I saw no sign of them, no fish spooking out etc.  I even waded into the deeper holes and moved a stick around to push out fish and saw nothing.  I believe this river gets too hot and low in summer months and is not conducive to holding trout.  Fish the San Miguel and its other tributaries nearby instead if you’re looking for some great fishing.

This river is not fishable, enjoy some of the other rivers around the area though as they are excellent and quite enjoyable.
