Lime Creek is a pristine and gorgeous brook trout haven nestled amongst the rugged San Juan Mountains. This fishery offers great solitude for the angler looking to escape the crowds, and views that will buckle your knees. It is one of the major tributaries to the Animas River and it is full of eager fish.. It is not just full of brook trout, there are also many small rainbow that also reside here. Lime Creek is easily accessible via Lime Creek Road. Pickups, SUVs, and Jeeps can navigate this road with relative ease. Another option is just simply walking the two track road and access the creek from there. Dry flies will fish best in this some of the upper sections as it is shallow and riffley.
