In an effort to list every fishable river in Colorado, we’ve added the upper section of Ralston Creek.  Most of us locals know about Ralston creek down in town, and for the majority of that river, there are few fish and no trout.  Up in Golden Gate Canyon however, they stock the ponds and some of the trout make a life for themselves in the little creek.  Overgrown with willows and trees, it is extremely difficult to access the river as you go along and the fish have proven to be spooky.  For the adventurous (or bored) angler who wants to try something new and test their skills, this is a place to check out.  Few fish, small fish, and lots of bow and arrow casts with the smallest fly rod you can find will give you your best chance on the creek.  Personally, I’d just use a single dry fly and hope to get a long enough drift to hook the fish and set the hook.  The ponds nearby offer easier fishing, but can be hit or miss depending on when they stock them.
