Chalk creek is a small creek that follows County Road 162 near Nathrop Colorado, until eventually flowing into the Arkansas river. this small creek holds many small fish and can be a great way to escape the crowds on the Arkansas. The creek flows under many scenic cliffs that provide a great backdrop to a peaceful day of fishing. While these cliffs are a pretty sight, they can create a milky white chalk color on the creek during heavy rains, so check the weather before you head out. Bring plenty of food and water and be prepared for quickly changing weather conditions as well.
