The Lake Fork of the San Miguel is a small tributary of the South Fork of the San Miguel.  In terms of fishable water and quality, it’s not my top recommended area to fish.  However, if you are looking to try something new and have already fished the more popular stretches of the San Miguel and nearby rivers in Telluride, you can explore this river.  The river is small and is best fished when water is high or in a season of good rains.  Focus on the area around Priest Lakes (and fish them too) to find the more reliable fishing.  Above Trout Lake there is a small public section in between 2 trout ranches that are worth exploring in the fall during spawning periods.
