The Little Snake River provides some fun opportunities to catch cutthroats and other trout when you’re up in the steamboat area.  There are plenty fishing opportunities that will distract you on the way north to this stream, but when you get here you’ll see some great water and willing trout.  There isn’t as much public water here as there is private and it requires some hiking, but you can have a good day on the water with some exploring.  The Middle fork is the only section you can really fish on national forest land along road 129.  Park and hike over to the river and work your way up the canyon.  Soon the river divides and narrows but opportunity to fish still remains.  It’s a good river to explore and a way to beat the crowds.
