I really enjoyed the upper part of the north fork of the Gunny. Although much of it is private, with OnX Maps you can find some BLM and fish the large river. It muddies up often, so don’t forget your bright flies, squirmy worms, mop flies and other attractor style flies. At the same time, it’s easy to come to fish it and find clear water and selective hatches. Be prepared with the right fly selection (shown below) based on the hatches for the time you are visiting the river. It’s a large river so wade carefully and break the river own into smaller, approachable sections. Start on the edges and work your way out. Enjoy this fun, often un-pressured section of the river!
