What Makes Articulated Flies Effective?

Trout, above anything else, respond to movement.  Aquatic insects are living, breathing creatures that wiggle and squirm quite frequently.  We learned that an articulated fly pattern can be superior to it’s non-articulated versions for this exact reason.  With realistic, lifelike movements as your articulated flies move through the current, the trout will key in on them quicker and with voracity.  This results in more strikes and more fish to the net whenever you tie these articulated trout flies on your leader.

Our hand-tied articulated flies are securely fastened while allowing for movement of the “tail” section of the fly.  One of the biggest problems with articulated flies is the dual-hooks that foul up together ruining your presentation.  These flies only have a single hook on them allowing for the benefit of the movement without the problems of normal articulated dual hook flies.
