This section isn’t as pretty as the middle and upper section, but there are plenty of fish to be found.  You can float it year round and it fishes great year round too.  Access isn’t difficult with a little exploration.  Fishing above and below the roaring fork confluence is solid.  There can be some lights out dry fly fishing on this section of the river when the flows are right and the hatch is happening.  When there are no dries, nymphs will be your best friend.  Fish from 10” to 18” call this section home and it’s a good mix of rainbows and browns that are caught here.  Some whitefish can be found too from time to time, but they are fairly migrant.

If you’re out by Glenwood, this is certainly a fishable option for anglers looking to get out and work some runs for some healthy trout.
